loon

With the Loon series, Bob Foote has designed perfect all-around family canoes for day outings or wilderness trips. These V-shaped hulls have enough stability to make beginners comfortable, yet are technical enough to please the most experienced paddler.
Both the 16' and 17' versions of the Loon offer deep hulls for dry paddling and exceptional stability. The Loon 16 has a slight rocker (i.e., upward slope to the stems) to increase maneuverability. It is the most all-around, versatile canoe we offer. The Loon 17 maintains its incredible paddling efficiency with a heavy load. A great family canoe for extended tripping or a day at the lake. The lightweight Kevlar option makes portaging and car topping the Loon a breeze

Testimonials and reviews
“I love this little boat. Navarro’s 13-footer is a pleasure to
look at and a joy to paddle. The graceful lines of this classic
wood and fiberglass design, not to mention the boat’s
performance, represent for me an understated affirmation
that canoe building is still more an art than a science.”
